Day 28: Paul’s Prayers
When someone asks me to pray for them in a specific situation, I consider it an honor and a privilege to take part in what God is doing in their hearts and lives. And, I do pray for the specific circumstance, or relationship, or whatever it is that they ask. But, I always also pray a little bit of one of Paul’s prayers from Ephesians or Colossians as well. They are so beautiful and speak not to circumstances, but rather to the condition of our souls, the mire of our hearts, and the bedrock view we have of ourselves in relation to God, his power, his love for us, and our place in his heart. If we align ourselves with the truth, then come what may, all will be well.

Prayer
Lord, I pray that out of your glorious riches you would strengthen me with your power through your Holy Spirit in my inner being so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. And I pray that I, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that Is may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
